Come explore how cohousing meets the needs of families with autism and similar disabilities!

More cohousing communities in North America have been successfully launched by Katie’s workshops than by any other means. They provide focus to a group’s time and energy, and aid in moving a project forward. This is an efficient and necessary step for the integration of the project budget and financing, the design and development, and the community building required for a successful cohousing project.

This full weekend workshop is led by CoHousing Solutions founder, Katie McCamant, and Calgary’s own Cohousing Connections consultant, Sarah Arthurs. Katie’s experience is grounded in 30 years designing over fifty socially vibrant and environmentally sustainable communities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Sarah is an affiliate of CoHousing Solutions and is excited to help seed the next generation of cohousing communities.

This workshop will provide a clear overview of the cohousing development process, covering development strategies, timelines, financing options, raising the money, working together, and outreach and recruitment to give your group the tools to effectively plan the next steps. Also discussed will be aging in place and consideration for sensory needs and disabilities.
